Every Beginning Leaves a Mark

My journey didn’t begin with a title, a certification, or a practice. It began as a young man earning a psychology degree at Morgan State University in Baltimore Maryland, while working long hours in a grueling mortgage contact center. It wasn’t glamorous—far from it—but it was the first space where I realized something important: I loved helping people rise. Even in the chaos of quotas and refinance calls, I found myself naturally encouraging others, mastering the work, and mentoring new employees. Leaders noticed. And without knowing it, that was the moment I stepped into training, facilitation, and human development.

While completing my bachelor’s degree, I fell in love with the psychology of people and the psychology of performance at the same time. Understanding how people think—and helping them reach their goals—became the thread connecting everything that came next.

After graduation, I entered the public school system as a special education teacher. My first assignment was within an ED (Emotionally Disturbed) program, where I taught Algebra I, English 9, and English 10 to students who had endured deep emotional, physical, and sexual trauma. Psychology equipped me to meet these students with empathy, structure, and unwavering belief in their potential.

After my time in the ED program, I transitioned into the general education population, where I taught Special Education Algebra I to high school students who required additional academic and behavioral support. Later, I continued my education career in middle school, teaching 7th grade Geography and expanding my understanding of how students learn, grow, and navigate their environments.

Even during my years in education, I never lost the passion that first awakened in that contact center—the passion to train, develop, coach, and elevate.

So I returned to the corporate world, this time stepping fully into my strength as a training professional. Across multiple industries, I trained new hires, existing employees, supervisors, leaders, and vendors—anyone seeking clarity, confidence, or competence in their role. I facilitated learning experiences, built programs, and helped shape teams and cultures. But that original love for psychology never faded. It only grew louder.

I went back to school and earned my master’s degree in clinical psychology, which opened the door for me to work in mental health. I provided both individual and group therapy in a behavioral health setting, often supporting clients mandated by the Atlanta drug and alcohol court system. I guided individuals facing addiction, trauma, instability, and emotional distress—while still working simultaneously as a corporate training professional and later moving into leadership and talent development roles.

Eventually, I stepped deeper into organizational development and leadership growth—working to cultivate leaders, improve culture, and design pathways for professional advancement. It became clear that my two worlds—mental health and corporate development—weren’t competing. They were calling to be unified.

That realization led me back to school once more, this time to pursue a Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. It gave language, theory, and structure to the work I had already been living: the blending of human wellness, leadership, emotional clarity, and professional development.

EmbarkOlogy Pathways was born from that merging—a place where mental health, personal evolution, leadership development, and organizational wellness coexist. A place where beginnings matter, where transformation is possible, and where every experience, every chapter, and every lesson leaves a mark worth honoring.

The EmbarkOlogy Philosophy

EmbarkOlogy is built from three foundational pathways—each designed to support a different dimension of the human experience:

• MindHood™ — Where Your Mind Grows Up With You.
A modern mental wellness framework supporting individuals at every stage of life as they develop emotional maturity, self-awareness, and a grounded sense of identity.

• IntimPath™ — Feel It. Face It. Free It.
A therapeutic and relational approach guiding individuals and couples toward emotional clarity, honesty, intimacy, and personal truth.

• InnerGround™ — Come Home to Your Inner Ground.
A professional development and leadership methodology supporting clarity, alignment, resilience, and cultural wellness within organizations.

Together, these pathways form a deeply human, culturally aware, and transformational practice.

In His Own Words

“I created EmbarkOlogy Pathways because I believe every person deserves a space to reconnect with themselves—whether through healing, clarity, intimacy, or leadership. My work isn’t about fixing people; it’s about walking with them as they uncover the parts of themselves they lost, abandoned, or never had the chance to meet.”

“No matter who you are, where you’ve been, or what you’re carrying, your story still has room to grow. And sometimes, the most powerful beginnings are the ones we create on purpose.”
